Eleftherios Venizelos’ clothes

Two days after the signing of the Treaty of Sèvres (July 28, 1920), an assassination attempt was carried out against Eleftherios Venizelos at the Gare de Lyon railway station in Paris as he prepared to leave for Greece, by two dismissed royal officers, Georgios Kyriakis and Apostolos Tserepis. He was slightly injured on the left shoulder blade and right hip, as proved by the bloody prints on his clothes (shirt, undershirt and underpants), which constitute the unique evidence of the attempt. They were donated by the Liberals Club (Athens).
